Wingspan (formerly Home & Family Counselling) is a registered charitable trust that is on a mission to achieve better mind health for everyone, regardless of their personal circumstances. We're here to create a safe, non-judgmental respectful space to support people face their challenges and help them find a way through. 

Our team

We are a small, yet diverse and collaborative team (approx. 24 staff) who support each other, and care deeply about the well-being of Aucklanders and their families.  

 

We have two Auckland counselling centers in Central Auckland (Mt Eden) and North Shore (Northcote) that offer short to medium-term counselling services. 

 

Wingspan is not affiliated with any religious group - we welcome everyone and see diversity as a strength.

Counsellor

 

Wingspan has two vacancies at our Auckland Central site for experienced counsellors. Wingspan is an established and well-respected not-for-profit agency that is in the process of expanding, so it is an exciting time to join our team. Wingspan offers a rewarding employment opportunity with a generous remuneration package and a supportive environment. The ideal applicants will work from a systemic perspective and be able to work with Families, Couples and Individuals.

 

We are seeking 2 counsellors, with 3 days/week available for each position.

 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Counselling qualification or other appropriate qualification
  • Professional membership
  • Proven experience working with Families and Couples
  • Skills at assessing risk and safety
  • Excellent communication, both oral and written
  • A commitment to being a supportive team member
  • Alignment with Wingspan Mission, Visions and Values
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
