The Board of Trustees of the Wingspan Trust (formerly 'Home & Family Counselling Soc. Inc.) is delighted to announce the appointment of Kelly Olsen to the new role of Chief Executive. Kelly will lead the next phase in the impressive lifecycle of the Wingspan Trust, which has served Auckland communities for more than 130 years — most recently by providing donation-based professional counselling to families, couples and individuals.
Kelly joins Wingspan from the senior leadership team of Community Living Ltd where she has served six years. Previously, Kelly has presided over significant challenges and achievements on behalf of several non-profits including the Graeme Dingle Foundation. Her cumulative commercial acumen is supported by her formal professional development in Health and Wellbeing including 'Health and Wellness Coaching' and 'Advanced Skills and Practice in Coaching'.
In 2020, the Wingspan board initiated a transformative project to facilitate increasing its donation-based counselling capacity. Three years on, with strategies deployed to support expansion, the timing of Kelly's appointment and her already apparent enthusiasm for future growth is an exciting development to take Wingspan forward.
Wingspan's Trust Board Chair, Alan Brookbanks, is thrilled that a senior executive of Kelly's experience and skills is excited at the prospect of leading Wingspan into its next stage and continuing to serve the growing Auckland community. "The shoes of our retiring Executive Director Shelley Anderson, are big shoes to fill and we're confident Kelly will build on the excellent foundations Shelley has nurtured, implemented and promoted."
Incoming Chief Executive Kelly has commented following confirmation of her appointment; "I am very excited to be joining Wingspan and building on the strong legacy Shelley is leaving. Working alongside the team to move forward and meet the future objectives of Wingspan to grow support for our community is an opportunity I can't wait to lead."
Kelly will join the Wingspan team in January 2024.
